Syrup Shack - Interactive Diner Menu

Syrup Shack Diner

A non-commissioned project to design a touch-screen menu system for an American Diner. The brief was to come up with a design that would appeal to the family market, consider usability as it was intended for a table top touch screen system where the order could be placed at the table, paid for and sent through to the kitchen easily and minimising assistance from diner staff.

The menu also included a duke box funtion where music could be chosen by individual customers and added to the restaurant queue. The colours reflect 1950's American cartoons, giving the family appeal and the layout is bright, consistent and easy to use. Extensive usability testing was carried out on the system with a working 'walk-through' being programmed in Flash.
